| Spain will win the World Cup for the first time. The Netherlands just don't have what it takes. |

| I hope I am wrong, but TOO often the World Cup Final is a disappointment as both sides often play very conservatively, playing not to lose. For me, the best games are often in the group play stage. Saying that, I am cheering for Holland. |

| Although my picks have been mostly wrong throughout the final 16 - I'll pick the Dutch! |

| The Octopus doesn't lie. It will be Spain and unfortunately Clapper it will be a boring side to side possession painful display of soccer. I will be rooting for the Dutch myself. I am a flying Dutchmen at heart! |

Spain has my support defeating a very good german squad. That being said the dutch haven't exactly eased their way here either with a win over Brazil. Should be a good match and i hope it is not too "conservative." |

orange crush... germany played poorly, muller was out...2 pit bulls in def-mid
It's in Holland's DNA
unless Cesc plays...
it will come down to a restart
if it goes to PK's then Barca (err- I mean Spain) will have the advantage...
Has Spain paid their players yet?
So there you have it a... Spain win... |

| This was a final to be forgotten. Too bad that our sport was displayed in such a bad light to the world today. It was an ugly football final. |

| It was no doubt a disgrace to our sport around the world. I still feel the better side won, even in such a scrappy and dark environment. |

"Thursday they asked me from Netherlands 'Can we play like Inter? Can we stop Spain in the same way Mourinho eliminated Barca?"
"I said no, no way at all. I said no, not because I hate this style - I said no because I thought that my country wouldn't dare to and would never renounce their style.
"I said no because, without having great players like those of the past, the team has its own style. I was wrong. Of course I'm not hanging all 11 of them by the same rope, but almost.
"They didn't want the ball and regrettably, sadly, they played in a very dirty fashion. So much so that they should have been down to nine immediately, then they made two such ugly and hard tackles that even I felt the damage.
"This ugly, vulgar, hard, hardly eye-catching, hardly football style - yes, it served the Dutch to unsettle Spain. If they got satisfaction from this then fine, but they ended up losing.
"They were playing anti-football."

sorry I missed this discussion during the world cup. I watched 55 of the 64 games this year. It was an amazing experience I must say. Wolffs Biergarten was a great venue. I am huge Deutschland fan and was so impressed by their play. Thomas Muller and Mesut Ozil show what kind of future is ahead. I think we had a real chance to beat Spain with or without Muller in the game, but we sat back on defense to much. but I new that Holland wouldn't win the title, FIFA rules state: The Dutch are not allowed to win the World Cup. I also love how it was built up as South American dominance to have three of the four final teams to be Europe. But ESPN did a great job this year with coverage.

and to further expand. All you young players should watch and study Mesut Ozil. He is only 21 years old and is an amazing player. His ball control, speed and unselfish play will help him become a world class player.
