Brendan Dempsey put Shen on the board in the 28th minute off of a breakaway past the recovering Shaker defenders. Adam Barlow had the pass that got Dempsey in. In the 2nd half, Tim Preston was taken down in the penalty area and converted the PK in the 47th minute. The match went back and forth with shots ringing off of the posts and scrambles in front of both nets. The game would go to the 2nd overtime where Shaker's Austin Britt received a deflected shot with his back to the goal, quickly turned, and tucked one in the corner of the net for the win. It was a fitting ending to the match for Britt, who worked tirelessly throughout the game. Shots at goal were 12 - 10 in favor of Shaker. John Holland, Shaker, had 3 saves while Shen keeper John Mabee had 5 saves.
